Once you notice rv leveling jacks not working.
Rv leveling jacks won t retract.
If the leveling jacks won t retract there are several things that can cause a problem with an rv s leveling jacks.
I would leave the key out of the ignition release the emergency brake then reapply it start the engine take it out of park and release the emergency brake hopefully everything will go to normal.
Most rv s have some type of emergency or manual override for the level jacks.
Common places to start include looking at the fuses checking electrical breakers and looking for hydraulic leaks.
You can start the engine with no control on the jacks but when you move the gearshift to any position other than park or release the parkbrake the jacks will retract or they should.
Once you have found which one works the jack that is not working close the valves and retract the other jacks.
Find the fuse locations.
For most of these cases their hydraulic system has either taken on a disturbing growling noise upon descension of the leveling jacks or they simply won t retract back into the rig without force from a 2 4.
Try to find a manual override switch.
Open the valve for the jack not working and use a pry bar to help raise the jack.
